Travel vs. Adulting

Today my tax refund came in the mail.  $850! Yep that's a lot of money when you only make $11 an hour.

As I stared at the check, I pictured what I could do. A long cruise. Buying a plane ticket to Australia or Japan. A month long off from work road tripping across the USA. Oh the places I could go. The things I could do.

Then I came back to reality. I make only $11 and need to plan for the future. Though my vacation account is a decent size, my saving and checking account is looking a little low.

I sighed. Signed the check and deposited the entire amount into my new retirement account now with a whooping  $2,850 in it.

Sometimes being an adult is fun. Planning where to go and what to do. Other times being a adult sucks! Being responsible and planning for the future.
