One of the Top Haunted House - Netherworld

Netherworld is ranked one of the top haunted houses in the country. Being a big Halloween fan, we wanted to go and check it out.

We purchased tickets beforehand online. They did charge a $3 service fee making the tickets $31 vs. $28. However, it saved time as the line to buy tickets was probably 30 minutes long.

We parked down the road for $10. We didn't realize there was free parking actually at the Haunted House. At first, we felt ripped off as we had to walk next to the road with no sidewalks. However once we saw the free parking was filled and had a handful of cars waiting to park we decided that the $10 was worth it instead of frustration of bumper to bumper traffic. After a five minute, walk we finally made it.

With miles and miles of queue set up, the lined looked very small. Only waiting about 15 minutes, our tickets were scanned for the first haunted house The Rotting.

We entered a hallway with a type of museum with props in display cases. Rounding the corner a witch gestured us inside curtains. This led to your typical mirror maze. After a minute of twist and turns, you stepped out to find more queue. This queue was more than a line as old props and Animatronics lined the walls. With the amount of detail inside the queue, I expected a lot from the house.

The indoor line lasted about 15 minutes before we were pulsed into the actually house. They had each party go roughly 45 seconds apart leaving the first two rooms by yourself.

The house exceeded my expectations. The sets are really well done and very elaborate.  The costumes and sets are worthy of any horror movie. I honestly didn't understand the plot of the house. There was so much to take in, it was hard to focus on the storyline. The house lasted about 20 minutes, which is the longest Haunted House I have been to.

After being blown away by The Rotting, we moved to the second house: Vault 13: Unearthed. This line had about a 10 minute wait. They brought groups in by 10. As I was the last person in our small group, the scare actors kept following me throughout the house. Creepy!

Unearthed is a modern haunt featuring mad scientists and alien creatures. Though it was basic, it was well done. There is a foam room at the end where you can choose to go through or not. You will get wet and your shoes will get covered in bubbles. This room was a neat idea. However the foam room needed to be longer and have more scares.

Outside in the parking lot, scare actors were walking around and there were props you could take a photo with.

Overall, Netherland was worth the price. It had amazing actors, unique themes, and extremely detailed sets.  Netherworld is appropriate for tweens and ages above. The first house alone would have been worth the price.

I hope to get back to Netherworld in the future to see how it can expand and change throughout time.
